New Zealander Mitch Evans made his ABB FIA Formula E debut with Panasonic Jaguar Racing in 2016 when the British team returned to racing. In his second season with the team, Mitch, widely seen as one of the quickest drivers on the grid, secured a series of firsts for Panasonic Jaguar Racing including super pole, podium finish and pole position. He finished season four in sixth position in the drivers standings.

Mitch started karting at the age of six and won the NZ Grand Prix at 16. Mentored by former F1 racer Mark Webber, the young driver went on to win the 2012 GP3 title. Moving to GP2 in 2013 and at just 18 years of age, while still a rookie, Mitch became the youngest driver in GP2 history to stand on the podium after finishing third in Sepang Malaysia. More success followed in 2015 when Mitch finished second at the 24 hours in Sepang Malaysia.

Nelson Piquet Jr joined Panasonic Jaguar Racing in 2017, finishing ninth in the 2017/18 drivers standings, and will race again for the British team in the 2018/19 ABB FIA Formula E Championship. Nelson entered the ABB FIA Formula E Championship in its inaugural year in 2014/15 and went on to be crowned season one champion.

Motor racing is in Nelson’s blood. Son of former three-time Formula 1 world champion, Nelson Piquet, Nelson has collected a number of titles throughout his career to date. Starting his career in South American karting, he soon moved to South American F3 and then onto British F3. In 2005, Nelson graduated to GP2, and finished as a runner-up to Lewis Hamilton in 2006. After that he was awarded a seat in F1 alongside Fernando Alonso helping Renault secure fourth position overall. In 2010 Nelson moved to NASCAR, becoming the first Brazilian to win a top tier race in 2012.

Ho-Pin Tung joined Panasonic Jaguar Racing as the official reserve & test driver for the team’s return to motor racing in 2016 and is confirmed to remain with the British team for season five.

With over a decade of international motor racing under his belt, Chinese/Dutch driver Ho-Pin Tung’s many achievements include test driver roles for Williams F1 and Renault F1, multiple single seater and Asian Le Mans Series championship wins. He is a multiple race winner in FIA WEC and won his class at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2017.

There may only be two people behind the wheel on race day, but there’s an army of engineers, mechanics and analysts, all working behind the scenes and around-the-clock to ensure optimum performance is achieved.
