As part of our commitment to constantly improve the efficiency of our cars we have created a range of efficient Ingenium engines, also featured in XE and XF. The E-Performance models are the most efficient cars in the XE and XF range. They feature the energy-saving 2.0 litre i4 turbocharged diesel (163PS) with an Intelligent Start/Stop system, as well as Ultra Low Rolling Resistance tyres to reduce drag between road and tyre, and lightweight aerodynamic alloy wheels, designed to optimise efficiency. The result: an astonishing fuel economy as low as 3.8l/100km and CO2 emissions from 99g/km for XE, and as little as 4.0l/100km and 104g/km CO2 for XF.

For the drivers of tomorrow, we are currently developing prospective technologies that include: predictive gesture and voice control activation; Laser Referencing, which can project warning images onto the road to be seen by the driver and other road users; and semi-autonomous driving systems to eliminate driver error and make roads safer.

In developing manufacturing innovations to save time, expense and resources, we have built one of the world’s most sophisticated Automotive Virtual Reality testing workshops, which has already saved over 1.2 million km of test-driving and 290 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
